The Grubbers are a game and percentage ahead of fifth-placed Inverleigh.
Inverleigh faces the undefeated Anglesea while Grove will go in favourites against bottom of the ladder Collendina.
If the results go as expected, the Grubbers will be 12 points and percentage ahead with two games remaining.
Jan Juc can sew up second spot and a home semi-final if it beats seventh-placed St Leonards.
Queenscliff can stay hot on the heels of the Sharks, though, if it beats Barrabool and the Saints cause a monumental upset.
