Barwon Heads regained the Battle of the Bridge bragging rights over Ocean Grove in an entertaining Bellarine Football League round 9 game on Saturday.

Barwon Heads booted five goals to none in the opening term to lead by 32 points, but from there, the Grubbers were only outscored by less than a goal.

The win kept the Seagulls in third position, while Ocean Grove remains in ninth position with just one win.

Mitch Phelps and Sammy Baker each kicked three goals for Barwon Heads while Braeden Eddy and Kyle Polley were named best.

James Paterson continued his good form with three majors for Ocean Grove while Josh Horton booted two and was named his side’s best player.

Modewarre handed Portarlington a 218-point thrashing.

Connor Joseph kicked 10 for the Warriors while Aaron Black and Tom Hornsey each booted seven and Tom Worpel six.

The Coutas led at every change, but an Anglesea comeback saw it lead by a goal late in the game.

However, Queenscliff leveled the scores and the two sides had to share the points.

Jayden Durran kicked seven for the Coutas and Jordan Harrison four for the Seas.

Torquay proved too good for Geelong Amateur by 81 points.

Ammos could only manage one goal for the first half, but responded by kicking nine in the second.

Four goals each to Paul McMahon and Ben Raidme helped Torquay to its winning score while Kristian Bucovaz kicked four of his own for Ammos.

Drysdale remained unbeaten after a stunning performance under lights at Newcomb.

The Hawks kept Newcomb to just two goals for the game and booted 16 themselves to run out 95-point victors.
