Huge Battle of the Bridge awaits

The long-awaited Battle of the Bridge returns tomorrow in round 9 of Bellarine Football League.

No matter where Ocean Grove and Barwon Heads are on the ladder, this match is always one that BFL fans pencil in each year.

The huge rivals do battle at Ocean Grove with Barwon Heads in spectacular form and Ocean Grove searching for its second win.

Star forward Nathan Brown should return for the Seagulls after sitting out last week’s mauling of Portarlington to concussion protocols.

It spells bad news for the Grubbers, whose form this season doesn’t really reflect their ladder position of 9th.

Grove has been in most games and the Heads won’t want to take them lightly.

The Queenscliff-Anglesea has huge ramifications for that fifth finals spot.

With Drysdale, Torquay, Barwon Heads and Modewarre expected to fill the top four positions, fifth spot is up for grabs.

Queenscliff sits a game ahead of Anglesea and win would probably see it back in the five.

Torquay should do enough to beat Geelong Amateur, but Ammos have put together some very good football of late.

Modda will beat Portarlington while Newcomb host the unbeaten Drysdale under lights at Grinter Reserve in what should be an entertaining game.
