St Leonards and Barrabool meet in round 3 of Bellarine Peninsula Cricket Association A1 Grade in what is shaping as a fascinating contest.

Both teams suffered round 2 losses and the Saints will go into the clash without star batsman and captain Andrew Spengler, who is unavailable.

Spengler has scores of 76 and 42 so far this season and has made those runs at a quick rate.

Taylor Bonner takes over as skipper after he made 34 last weekend.

Barrabool lost to Inverleigh last week and will be keen to bounce back.

Jan Juc gun Ben Grinter enters the game against Queenscliff in red hot form.

Grinter has made 79 and 110 not out so far in an ominous sign for the competition’s bowlers.

Anglesea takes on Collendina.

Collendina’s performances so far have been disappointing and they need more runs on the board.

If Nathan Walter and Curtly Balshaw can get starts and then go on with it, they may be a chance, but Anglesea is stacked with talent and should win.

Ocean Grove travels to Inverleigh with both sides in good form.

Shaun Fankhauser and Paddy McKenna hold the key to the Grubbers’ scoring a winning total, but the Kookaburras are playing well, especially Leigh Hazelwood, who has taken six wickets and has scored a handy 43 in the opening two rounds.
