Mandy Adams and Alana Kot steered Ocean Grove to a win in a high quality BWCC A Grade clash on Sunday.

Adams made a well crafted 43 from 50 deliveries while Kot compiled 41 from 45 in Grove’s 5-134 against Barrabool.

Barrabool replied with 7-107 thanks to a good knock from Caitlin Pickering who made 28, but the bowling of Tanya Taylor (3-6) and Katrina Paton-Hodges (2-16) proved too good.

Portarlington went down to Highton, but not without a fight. Olivia Hoskin made 21 and Elise Chisholm 20 in Port’s innings of 2-98, but Highton got the runs in the 18th over with Chisholm capping off good game by snaring two wickets.

South Barwon beat Collendina in B Grade, but a fine 49 retired off 65 from Jen Walsh was the highlight. Jess Elwood grabbed three wickets for the Cobras in what was their first hit out for the season after having a round one bye.

Anglesea defeated East Belmont by 40 runs in B Grade with Annie Taylor’s 32 retired the catalyst.

St Leonards is the team to beat in D Grade, thrashing South Barwon.

Emma Blanch made 33 retired and Trudi Kyrou 28 in the Saints’ 7-120 while Kim Pepyat’s 2-5 helped keep South Barwon to 6-84, 36 runs short.

In E Grade, Wallington had a good win, beating Bannockburn with Elizabeth Patterson snaring three wickets and Ruby Wright making 36 not out off 28 balls.
