Ocean Grove couldn’t quite get over the line in its A Grade qualifying final on Sunday.

Geelong Amateur proved too good by four goals. Final scores: Ocean Grove 45 defeated by Geelong Amateur 45.

Goal shooter Rebecca O’Neill was Ocean Grove’s best while Rhiannon Whitson and young gun Anna Smith were good.

The Grubbers now turn their attention to Drysdale this Saturday in a first semi-final.

B Grade will meet Geelong Amateur in the second semi-final after having the first week of the finals off.

C Grade also had the weekend off and will meet Modewarre in the second semi-final while E Grade will take on Barwon Heads in a grand final qualifier.

D Grade lost to Torquay by 12 goals and now faces Modewarre in a cut-throat first semi-final.

Monet New, Tarryn Stanley and Jorja Connellan were best in the 20 to 32 loss.
