THE final competition for the 13th Beach Boardriders 2015/16 season has been run and won.
The competition, sponsored by the Greenroom, was held at the Hole for the first time in a number of seasons. Unfortunately the very consistent run of good swell and off-shore winds let us down and the competitors were left to battle it out in small, inconsistent easterly peaks.
The surfers had to rely on luck and wave craft in order to be on the best scoring waves. The conditions really suited the under-14s and Junior Divisions and we saw the likes of Zeph Lamperd, Ellie Harrison, Charlie Mahoney and Marcel Laidlaw rip.
In the Open A, Danny Dales Sutton, Lachie Keath, Simon Collier, Shawn Todd and Grant Stringer all found good scores early. Open B saw a close duel between Todd Sopovski, Mac Taylor and Nic Stephens who all read the tricky conditions well.
As this was the final event for the season, results have been held over and will be announced at the presentation night along with all divisional winners of the club aggregate points competitions.
The presentation night details are still being finalised but it is scheduled for a date in August. All members will be notified through the Team App and Facebook so keep an eye out.
