Dedicated volunteers call time

Gail Rogers

Bellarine Community Support Register’s chairperson Gail Rodgers stepped down from her role at the annual general meeting in October after nine years in the position.

Gail joined the committee in 2007 as the register was being established on the Bellarine. In 2016 Gail took on the role of chairperson and has led the organisation through three strategic planning cycles while securing the pro-bono services of Utilitise IT that has developed the new confidential database, Safeguard.

Gail also brought significant expertise in many areas including her extensive knowledge of the not-for-profit sector, funding opportunities, event management and strategic planning processes as well as valuable networks and contacts.

It was under Gail’s strong leadership and with the significant input by volunteers throughout the past two years that all register services to registrants were delivered despite the challenges of the pandemic. Gail will continue as a volunteer.

Jenny Gibbs also retired from the committee after a combined contribution of 12 years.

Jenny has been involved in organisational promotions including the distribution of brochures, presentations to community/service groups and market stand displays.

Despite the pandemic challenges of the last 18 months, Jenny’s considerable commitment has seen registration numbers grow and a strong committee of management in place.
