Boardriders pledge

A re-elected Morrison Liberal government will provide up to $100,000 to fund a clubhouse near 13th Beach in Barwon Heads for the use of the 13th Beach Boardriders.

The announcement was made today by Federal Member for Corangamite, Sarah Henderson as she joined local boardriders including president Christian Pritchett.

The 13th Beach Boardriders was formed in 1977 and has been a valuable part of the surfing community ever since. The Club has been fighting to secure funds and obtain land use consent for a clubhouse near 13th Beach for its members to use for several years.

“I am so pleased the Morrison Liberal Government will provide $100,000 toward a clubhouse for this great local surfing organisation. This funding is contingent on the Boardriders receiving land use consent from the state government or council and I look forward to giving club members the support they need to secure a place they can call home,” Ms Henderson said.

“I congratulate the members of the 13th Beach Boardriders and the club’s supporters for advocating for this investment.”
