Ocean Grove Collendina Cobras 3 went down by nine points in their Under 14 Division 6 grand final decider against Geelong Amateur 3 on 2 September.
Final scores were Geelong Amateur 5.4 (34) to Ocean Grove Collendina Cobras 3.7 (25) at Grenville Oval in Torquay.
Despite trailing by 13 points at quarter time, Ocean Grove Collendina Cobras recovered and kept ladder-leader Amateur scoreless in the second quarter to lead by three points at half time.
After the main break Geelong Amateur continued to press forward and booted 3.2 compared to the Cobras’ score of 1.2.
Max West, Flynn West and Oscar Morphet all kicked one goal for the Ocean Grove Collendina Cobras.
The Cobras had a successful season and finished in second spot with a 9-7 record.
